The apartments are available from 3.00 p.m. onwards. They must be vacated by 10.00 a.m. to allow time for changeover.

Are the apartments suitable for young children, under seven say?

The penthouse apartment is suitable for young children. The bedrooms are on the first floor and there are stairs to the upper living room and kitchen. There is an intercom in the apartment for listening to the children - it's left in the chest of drawers in the hall.

The terrace apartment is not really suitable for very young children as the second bedroom is accessed via stairs from the terrace. Older children, however, have enjoyed having a bit of independence and their own space.

Are there irons, ironing boards and hair-driers in the apartments? Will we need to bring plug adaptors?

We supply an iron and an ironing board in both apartments. Hair driers are supplied. Plug adaptors are needed and it is safest to bring a couple as it is not always easy buying such things locally.

Both apartments have TV and DVD but not games consoles. The equipment can play English DVD?s.

Is there an internet connection?

Yes. You can use an ethernet cable to connect your laptop (assuming you have an ethernet port - most laptops do these days) or there is wireless. For connecting to wireless, you will need to search for the network 'Cupra' and use the password we provide you with when booking an apartment.

Please note: Internet is functioning in the penthouse but not yet in the terrace apartment.

Are sun loungers provided for the terraces?

Yes.

How far are the nearest shops?

Ten minutes walk or five minutes in the car.

^Top

Could we manage without a car?

The apartments are in Cupra Alta - a hamlet/village above the sea. The walk down takes ten to fifteen minutes, while the walk up takes twenty. If you are comfortable walkers it should be no problem.

Local transport from the seaside town of Cupra Marittima is good - trains and buses to nearby towns and some further inland, although it tends to stop fairly early. So, yes you could manage without a car but you might need to organise taxis for late night revelry.

How is the parking?

Along the Cupra coastline the parking is free and there's quite a lot of it. There is a parking space belonging to the apartments in Cupra Alta and the penthouse has priority. Terrace apartment visitors are of course welcome to park there if it's free.

There is actually actually quite a lot of free parking fairly close to the apartments. The only time to be aware of is at night when the restaurants are full. This also applies to the coastline but it's not really a problem.

^Top

Are there cycle paths?

Yes, along the sea front from Cupra to San Benedetto and probably more but we have not as yet had chance to explore them. However the tourist office should help.

^Top

Why Le Marche?

We chose to buy in Le Marche because we found the small, charming town of Cupra with its long sandy beach, 16th century piazza, rolling hills behind and gorgeous medieval towns to visit close by, utterly enchanting.
